Argumentative Essay On Love - 1741 Words

â€Å"If my love is without sacrifice, it is selfish. Such love is a barter, for there is exchange of love and devotion in return for something. It is conditional love.† This is a quote from Sadhu Vaswani, an admired Indian spiritual leader. Two people who are truly in love will always be willing to sacrifice something for each other in return for nothing but the other individual’s love, and if they are now willing to do that, they are not meant to be. Love has been around forever, it is a human instinct that people cannot fight, cannot replace, and must face at one point within our lives. This type of endless, unconditional love is shown in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespear, where the two star-crossed lovers are willing to†¦show more content†¦Romeo: There is no world without Verona walls But purgatory, torture, hell itself. Hence â€Å"banishà ¨d† is banished from the world, And world’s exile is death. Then â€Å"banishà ¨d,† Is death mistermed. Calling death â€Å"banishment,† Thou cutt’st my head off with a golden ax And smilest upon the stroke that murders me.† Here, Romeo is saying that banishment is too harsh, and worse than a death sentence. The friar tells Romeo that he should not be too upset because he still has the whole world outside of Verona to see, but Romeo just says that everywhere outside of Verona is hell, and that he would much rather be dead. This quote shows that Romeo thinks that everywhere besides Verona is like a never ending hell, because he will be aware that his Juliet is well and within Verona, but he can never see her again. For this reason, Romeo is willing to give up his own life instead of facing the pain that is being away from Juliet for the rest of his life. [Quote 2] â€Å"O, bid me leap, rather than marry Paris, From off the battlements of yonder tower; Or walk in thievish ways; or bid me lurk Where serpents are; chain me with roaring bears; Or shut me nightly in a charnel house, Oercovered quite with dead men’s rattling bones, With reeky shanks and yellow chapless skulls; Or bid me go into a new-made grave And hide me with a dead man in his shroud— Things that, to hear them told, have made me tremble— And I will do it without fear or doubt, To live anShow MoreRelatedArgumentative Essay On Forbidden Love776 Words   |  4 PagesForbidden Love â€Å"The Iranian government sees trans and homosexual individuals as people with psychosexual problems, and so provide them with a medical solution†(Neha Thirani Bagri, An Uncomfortable Truth, qz).
